Dissolution of National Assembly

An act of the National Assembly, as ordered by the courts, to answer the constitutional question of transferring legislative powers following a dissolution of the National Assembly ordered by the Crown.

Provisions

  1. The Crown may order one of two types of dissolutions;
    1. A full dissolution in which the Premier and the National Assembly is removed
    2. A partial dissolution in which the assemblymen are removed, but the Premier remains in power
  2. Upon a full dissolution of the National Assembly;
    1. A Provisional Assembly shall be formed consisting of all the Sheriffs of each Shire.
    2. The Provisional Assembly shall set the date of a special election to replace the National Assembly with-in two days of forming.
    3. The Provisional Assembly may also pass emergency legislation that is temporarily effective until the new National Assembly is elected
  3. Upon a partial dissolution of the National Assembly;
    1. The Premier shall with-in two days set the date of a special election to replace the National Assembly
    2. No Provisional Assembly shall be formed
    3. No temporary legislation shall be passed
