Referendums

An act of the National Assembly to provide an option for direct democracy.

Provisions

  1. By a simple majority vote by the Assembly, any bill may be turned into a referendum
  2. Referendums are directly voted on by the people
  3. Referendums bypass requirements of
    1. A Nihil Obstat by the High Court, and
    2. The requirement of the Premier's signature
  4. When a referendum conflicts with the constitution, two referendums shall be made:
    1. One to remove the conflicting constitutional clause
    2. One to pass the subject of the referendum
    3. Should any one of these fail the vote, both shall become nulled
